I *heart* Toys!

Sadie is settling in and man is she an energetic little border collie. I questioned at first whether she would have a typical border collie personality but now that she’s feeling more comfortable here she is a happy go lucky little border collie girl.
She loves the toys! Makes my life easy that she likes to play with me! She fetches and tugs really well and I am sure I will be able to take her out and let her off leash to play chuck it and frisbee in no time. She comes running whenever I say her name!! I don’t think we will have off leash issues which will be nice for a change.
This little girl is always by my side and she is very unhappy if you put her in the crate and then go out of site. She seems to calm down within a few minutes though so hopefully the separation issues are minor. It’s hard to know exactly what she is doing when I am gone but I have a web cam and if the screaming continues I may have to actually figure out how to set it up so I can look in on her during the day while I am at work. Next week she will go to Paul’s place since he is off which will be a nice relief. I always feel bad leaving a dog in the crate when I am gone to work all day long.
Dylan is afraid of her. I think they will do fine outside because she will leave him alone but it will take a while before he will tolerate her indoors. Yesterday I had her on one side of the baby gate and had him touching the target stick up that was up by the baby gate. He didn’t want to but man did he want that hot dog!! He’s going to need a lot more confidence building exercises with her around. He gets really upset when she gets too close to his crate too so I just have to be careful. My house is TOO small to have 3 dogs (two of whom have to be separated at all times). Oh well, life goes on. Time to go rotate dogs again!!
Sadie sounds like a cutie. I hope that the application you had for her turns out to be the perfect family. That would be really great! I know adoptions for the rescue here have slowed to a virtual standstill.
As for managing multiple dogs, in small spaces, I totally understand what a struggle it can be. We’ve got the 6 dogs and Zoe and Rogue can’t be left alone together without supervision.
She sounds like such a sweetie! I bet she’d be sooo good at flyball. what a good girl. I hope Dylan accepts her a bit more. I totally understand about having a dog that doesn’t like the fosters. I can’t wait to babysit her for a night!
