Yay for Dremel’s!!

I have been contemplating having Dylan’s Nails all cut and cauterized while he is under anesthetic for his dental next month. My vet recommended it for his monster nails. It sounded so painful and I didn’t want to do it but I couldn’t find a place to dremel him.

I took him to my groomer friend’s place yesterday! She took him into the grooming place while I waited outside. 10 minutes later, Dylan came back with short nails. She said he stood still for her until she got to the last paw? I couldn’t believe it. When I try to dremel him he freaks out and wiggles and cries.

So the dremel from the groomer works. So Dylan is going to get dremeled a couple times a month from here on out. That will help get those nails good and short and will help him get used to being dremeled. Hopefully one day, he will let me dremel them myself.

Luckily we don’t have that problem.

I think because it is so stony here the Dogs nails get trimmed naturally.

Sounds like you have a good Groomer there.

That’s awesome, so his quicks weren’t all that long after all?

The dremel pushes the quicks back naturally. So even with long quicks you can get nails pretty short.

Is it expensive? I would like to get Honey’s done. She scratched Landon yesterday (on accident)

AWESOME!!

Love getting the dogs Dremeled! Maddie is the one whose situation brought us to the knowledge of the dremel It is just so hard for us to make it to the vet to get it done. I try and get there every 6 weeks. We are so overdue.

Yay! That’s such good news. I’m glad that you’ve found a place that Dylan likes and that will work for you two. That’s got to be such a weight off your mind. :-)

We’ve been eyeing one of those nail grinders, but haven’t picked one up yet.

That just doesn’t sound fun. Glad the groomer can do it.
