The long overdue update…

Time flies when you are busy.  I’ve not only been neglecting my blog but I have been neglecting facebook and other sites.  I still manage to update my facebook from my phone but I haven’t had a chance to do much else on there.

I have been crazy busy at work.  I’m still learning the new job.  It’s difficult but satisfying.  I like feeling like I am making a difference and I like being busy, busy, busy.    We’ve had some major changes company wide and I am adjusting to life as is pretty well.  9 years with this company has taught me that I need to be adaptable to survive.  Everything is always changing and people who are reluctuntant to change don’t succeed there.

Part of the changes was closing of our Canada Office.   It’s been a sad time for us here but apparently it’s what fits the business need.  Really the loss of the canada office allowed me to get promoted since I took over a Canadian job.  It makes me feel bad but there isn’t anything I can do to change it.  One positive outcome of the Canada Office change is that I had the opportunity to meet a long time IM Buddy from work.  He came to Salt Lake on a business trip shortly before getting laid off.  Here are a couple pics from the visit!

I’ve also been trying to get re-focused on my weigh ins weekly.  I am weighing in weekly and not doing so hot.  Yo-yoing a lot lately but I really want to get committed and focused.  I started an aqua-aerobics class and really like it when I am there.  It’s just getting there is a bit of a challenge.  My friend is taking it with me which helps keep me motivated but if she can’t make I try to rationalize my way out of it.   Most the time I replace it with something a little less humiliating — like walking my dogs.  At least it’s something right?

Paul and I took Ammon to Lagoon last weekend.  We had a great time and Ammon was adoreable as always.  Here are some highlights (yes they shaved off those curls for summer):

Dylan has good news for a change.   It’s been over 4 months since he was injured.  Yesterday, my vet released him to start doing some recalls at Flyball Practice.  She thinks it will be good for him.  No box work for a while but at least it’s something.  4 months of leashed walks has gotten very boring for him.  He and Marley have both gained weight.   He will be so thrilled to go to practice Sunday.

We have stopped Physical Therapy.  I’m nearing the end of the financial resources that I am willing and able to dedicate to this injury.   I have spent a lot of $$ and until yesterday I wasn’t too sure if it was paying off.  He still has a way to go but we are doing exercises at home and will continue to get acu-massage from Anita DeLelles as often as possible.  Marley has been enjoying her massages as well:

Dylan also had his 6th Birthday last week.  I can’t beleive this baby boy is 6 already!  Marley celebrated her 5th year gotcha day at the same time.   Time flies with these two and I am afraid one of these days it will be 11 and 10.  I never want these two to age but it’s happening right before my eyes.  I notice Dylan’s muzzle is more and more white these days.  He has age spots on his nose and ears and he is developing allergies.  Marley is getting a bit of white in her face that is new as well.

Marley’s therapy dog certification went through finally.  This happy girl will be out working again as soon as we can.  I miss my special time with her and will be glad when the two of us can go out visiting again.

Lastly, I have been spending time with my family as always.  I appreciate them more and more all the time.  I have wonderful parents and siblings.  I feel bad for the many years that I didn’t recognize how good that I had it.  I feel badly that the downturn in the economy has had an impact on family jobs but I am hoping things are starting to turn around for them.  My Dad is now employed full time and hope my sis will be one day soon.

We had this family picture taken at the Temple Open house.  Paul came along with me and is always so good to do that.

And speaking of Paul (last but far from least) I must add that he continues to be a wonderful and loving boyfriend.  I grow more and more in love with him everyday and can’t express enough how much I aprreciate the way that he treats me.   He’s an incredibly kind person and he makes me very happy.  I hope that I can do thing to make him happy in return.
